8 NFR runners (including the injured Will Horsley who was marshalling) descended on Hamsterley Forest for the Ayhope Skyline Trail Race which was a new route after speaking to Gerry. The organizers were happy with 52 entries and there was a good representation from fell and road clubs alike.

The route itself was very enjoyable feeding through the trails of the forest then onto the moor at the top of the forest which turned out to be a very good fell-like descent back onto the trails before heading back to the visitor centre finish.

Nick won the race followed by Joe Charles (who apparently gave Charlie Stead a good race 3 days ago at Guisborough Woods) followed by a steady stream of runners including myself in 6th (couldnt quite catch Joe Blackett), Karen 13th (1st Lady), Geoff Davis 19th (1st M50), Adrian Brown 20th, Paul Hainsworth 27th and Susan Davis (1st F45)

(... for the record someone measured the route as 9.96 mile not 9.5 mile)
