There was a large field of around 200 for this great test of early season running, including a fair representation from NFR. The race was won for a record fifth time by Charlie Stead who led from start to finish, although in the first 6-7 miles he was pushed by the excellent fell running novice Phil Sanderson. Athough Phil was passed by Dan Middlemass in the latter stages, he came a very creditable 3rd place. I managed to finish in 7th, and a great performance by Garry Owens (despite 25 miles of Allendale Challenge in his legs) made it team prize to NFR. Roll on The Waltz ...
