FIRST GENTS TEAM - DFR - 6, 7 & 11
FIRST LADIES TEAM - NFR - 2, 3 & 4
It was a case of unlucky 13 with the worst weather conditions in
the 13 times the race has taken place. Despite this 100 starters
braved the torrential rain and gale force winds with considerable
wind chill on the higher ground.
Despite these conditions 1 competitor stupidly chose to ignore the
requirements to carry/wear full body cover etc and was disqualified.
In future we will rigidly enforce these essential safety requirements.
We were fortunate to have the Allen Valley First Responders on hand
as there were a couple of cases needing their expertise.
Great runs by Joe Blackett travelling up from Yorkshire and Rachael
Vincent who is making a habit of winning tough fell races.
Nice to see some members of the new running club, Allen Valley Striders
participating, having a baptism of fire in the fell running world.
Hopefully this will not put them off the pleasures of fell running.

William Huddleston (proceeds to Fire Service Benevolent Fund and
Allen Valley First Responders) and Allenheads Grouse Moor for vehicular
access.
Next years race is scheduled to take place December 2nd 2007.
