“Another good turnout of 49 runners for this year’s race on a wonderful warm summers night, with conditions extremely dry underfoot – a complete contrast to last years boggy conditions. At the sharp end Duncan Archer and David Beech were never far apart finishing in that order with Duncan’s better descending skills prevailing towards the finish. Bruce Crombie and Mark Clarkson were next home, both beating their times of last year by a good 3 minutes.
David Lowe ran well to claim first local and Garry Owens was back on form after injuries. Karen Robertson again led the ladies home followed by Hannah Shillitoe and Sue Mitchell. NFR ladies retained the Ruth Fletcher memorial ladies team trophy with Karen, Sue and Louise Wilkinson making up the team” – Paul Appleby
