Well done to NFRs Chris Winter and Karen Robertson, first man and woman home. Results from Sue and Phil

Andy Russell writes: “About 30 of us set off on the Alwinton Fell Race in hazy sunshine mindful of heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast for the afternoon. A tail wind made for good conditions on Clennell Street with distant views of Bloodybush Edge and Cushat Law. Fellow NFR Richard Cavner caught up with me just before the bog trotting portion of the route from Yarnspath Law to Cushat Law. The first drops of rain set in as we descended Cushat Law and started on the seemingly endless forest roads in the Kidland forest. A few jelly babies kindly supplied by the folks at Kidlandlee Dean got me up the final hill to Clennell Street before the descent to Alwinton in the rain. Many thanks to Sue Mitchell, Phil Green and the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team for putting on such a great race.

Here too is a single photo of the runner in 2nd position, Tim Lawrence (Kent ac), coming off Bloodybush Edge sent in by Dagmar Winter (who was doing the Alwinton Round in the opposite direction):
